Our story
Let us share the abundance of love in our hearts and souls.
The Bullens Heimann & Friends Foundation is a charitable enterprise established in April 2017 by Nicole & Han Bullens Heimann in the Canton of Zug under the supervision of the Confederation of Switzerland.
In February 2022, we travelled deep into the Ecuadorian Amazon with the Pachamama Alliance to meet with with Manari Ushigua, the spiritual and political leader of the Sapára Nation. It was a very humbling and life-transforming experience.
Han’s visionary dream in the Amazon inspired us to become co-founders of the Living School of the Amazon focusing solely on education to empower indigenous people in the Amazon rainforest to preserve their lands and culture. It is a project that will ultimately affect the whole of humanity.
We believe that by sharing insights gained from our work, leaders from the west will be inspired to join our community of environmental and social philanthropists and contribute to the preservation of the Amazon towards the building of a sustainable world.
As a couple, we recognise that individually we can only achieve so much but jointly, with friends in our foundation, we can make a much bigger impact in the world. Our foundation is an expression of love and gratitude paying forward the countless blessings that we received during our lifetime.
We believe that it is not what you receive that creates the basis for a happy life. Rather it is what you choose to give.
Our mission
Together, we change the world by empowering people through education to protect the air we breathe.
The Bullens Heimann & Friends Foundation pursues solely charitable aims which supports empowering and educating people to strengthen local, social, economic, cultural and ecological frameworks in society.
The Foundation’s unique contribution is to engage western leaders in transformational conversations and experiences consistent with our mission. In our flagship project sponsoring education of indigenous leaders in the Living School of the Amazon as well as immersing western leaders in experiences from the Amazon, we will weave together indigenous and modern worldviews to focus on preserving the Amazon and the air that we breathe.
Within this charter, the Foundation specifically pursues educational projects with the following EESC aims:
- Ecology: Promoting training and projects that conserve natural landscapes and biological diversity
- Economy: Promoting projects supporting the education of young people in need
- Society: Supporting projects fostering greater collaboration and love to encourage societal and environmental change
- Culture: Promoting cultural diversity in all our efforts enabling the desired impact on societal and environmental change
